This was a highly process-based signage project.
After choosing a word that illustrates a Graphic Design principle—adapt—I planned ways to create unusual combinations of materials to build a sign for that word. I focused on experimenting with different materials, ranging from felt and wax to clay and wood. I also experimented with many different techniques, including weaving, quilting, creating molds and cutting on the laser printer. Finally, I even developed a pixel-based typeface to realise the final product (woven sign). The process allowed me to gain expertise in how to work with all the different materials.
